The sky was totally the hardest part-- I'm sure you can see the errors. In photoshop, it would have been such a breeze, but I had to be retarded and use traditional media. Ehehehur.
The theme is how Amaterasu made everything better, be it for supernatural beings or simple sake brewers. The dead watch on from behind the tori gate, at peace now that they know their efforts were not in vain. She guided two troubled men to follow a better path, and heralds a bright future for the next generation. Yaaay, Amaterasu!
Oh, and the bunny is the same rabbit that was named after a creator of the game, Inaba.
I thought waaay too much about who to include, where to put them, what made a good composition with regard to color and value. In the end I don't know what to think cuz I stared at it too long.
I worship this game, btw. No game will ever equal it. I'm glad this contest gave me an excuse to do fanart for it.
This may or may not be late. Everybody seems to think that the contest ends tonight, but technically 12 AM PST on the 30th was about 21 hours ago.
But nobody thinks of midnight as the start of the day. They think "Oh, the end of the 30th." paced myself for the 30th when I started last week, and only today realized they might mean the technical interpretation rather than the common one. ;-;
Wow, that was one of my more disjoined descriptions.
