Nematode

Description

This summer, I'm drawing nematodes for a very nice man that researches the impact that some species have on crops. Nematodes are parastic worms.
I've been drawing sooo many nematodes. Most aren't worth putting up here because they're just line drawings, but this is an exception. It's showing different stages of a nematode's life cycle, particularly in the reniform species.
Then, when I had some free time, I made like...I dunno...A nematode guardian sprite? I'm such a retard. Anyway, I drew a chick, but in the same speckly, semi-transparent manner that I color nematodes. So there you have it.
And I know her anatomy is wonky. It seems that when I draw strait on the computer, I can't help it. Bah, I suck. But...I still like her face and stuff, so I'm posting it.
No...my boss isn't using the version with my sprite on it.

Now for those that want to know what everything in this picture is...keep reading. If you don't...then stop reading, and don't ask.

The thing that looks like a tree branch is actually an itsybitsy feeder root branching off of larger roots on a cotton plant. To you and I, it's thread-thin. This gives you an idea of how small the nematodes really are.
The long squiggly nematode burrowing into the root is an immature female that's about to become mature. The fat, bean-shaped thing sticking out of the root is what a mature female nematode looks like with it's gelatonous matriz (egg sack) removed. I also included mature female showing through from inside the egg-case she's usually in. To the farthest right, we see little baby nematodes hatching and coming out of the egg sack.
All the brown lumps are growing egg-sacks with maturing females inside.

the sprite makes me think of a dryad watching the nematodes kill her tree.
just an abstract thought.
